Final reveal
Ok, I am only a year late posting this! I hope you enjoy the last post of the challenge. I will post an update with the glass (it only took seven months but who was watching the calendar?? The blinds are in and our primary bedroom is mostly finished. It is week 8 of the one-room challenge! Have you found some ideas you would love to use in your home? I certainly have been inspired by the talent and creativity of the participants. (I know, it is a bit later, and I did not get this blog in on time, so it is not on the One Room Challenge site!)
The bathroom is done-ish. I am really happy with how bright and modern it looks while still holding on to a classic vibe. The challenges with getting contractors on track and coordinated is nothing new in the design world. I did feel the challenges were sometimes extreme this time around. The lack of knowledge about how to set the tub and tub filler was nerve-wracking. The tile is still not great, and my tile guy seems to be ghosting me when I am trying to get him out here to clean up the grout and finish the grout. My GC, who is a trooper, is going to try to work on it. The glass is still not installed but hopefully next week or so. I need window coverings – mostly for when others are here, you cannot see into our house from the street, and we have almost no one driving down this end.
I am very happy with all the selections. I love the balance between crisp black and white and the warmth of the wood vanity. The small pops of color in the lighting and shower niche keep it casual which is perfect for my farm house style lake home.
The bath is everything I dreamed it would be. The matte white finish on the tub gives it a more interesting look than a standard gloss finish. The airjets and heated back rest are fabulous. I really like the ergonomics of the tub, it is incredibly comfortable to sit in.
The littles love the new bathtub with air jets and chromatherapy.
I am so happy to have a (relatively) dust free, construction free house again. What is the next big project you want to tackle? Is 8 weeks a reasonable time to complete it? I will let you in on a secret- mine took longer than 8 weeks.
