The Chemex has not changed since its invention by a chemist in 1941. It is, with good reason, it is a perfect marriage of form and function. It is one of only 23 items in the permanent collection of Useful Objects housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The blossoming coffee culture of the early 2000s led to the rediscovery of the Chemex by true coffie afficianados who swear the pour over is a superior coffee.
